I have had the unique privilege of witnessing the birth and evolution of the IT industry. The launch of the IBM PC in 1981 marked the beginning of the real IT boom. Thereafter, the industry advanced rapidly, driven by Moore's Law — the principle that the number of transistors on a microchip doubles approximately every two years while the cost of computing is halved. This exponential growth has powered the semiconductor industry for decades, dramatically increasing computing power, memory, and storage capacity.

The first PCs operated with memory measured in kilobytes and disk storage of only a few megabytes. Today, those capacities have grown by more than a million times, with memory now measured in gigabytes and storage in terabytes.

As computing and storage capabilities expanded, I witnessed multiple shifts in technology paradigms — from PCs running on MS-DOS with minimal resources to the evolution of Microsoft Windows, and now to AI-enabled PCs, laptops, and tablets powered by unprecedented compute and storage resources. Technologies such as Virtualization, Cloud Computing, BYOD, Big Data, and the Internet of Things became possible because the necessary hardware capabilities had finally matured. The latest transformative addition to this journey is Artificial Intelligence.
